Using Guidelines and Shadows
As you move an object, lines appear from a point directly below the center of the object to the X and Z axes origin
along with the distance values. These lines are referred to as guidelines. Guidelines can be turned off or onin the
Preferences dialog box.
Shadows are outlines of objects projected onto the base plane, and are useful in Perspective or Isometric view to judge
where objects are located relative to the grid. Shadows can also be enabled/disabled in the Preferences dialog box.
i
If the Snap to Grid option is enabled in the Preferences dialog box, then the Guideline values will be integers. If the
Snap to Grid option is disabled, then the displayed values will include values computed to several decimal places.
Guidelines show the distance from the X, Y and Z axes while Shadows locate an object on the grid..
Making Precision Movements
Atmosphere's Options tool bar, which can be free fl oating or docked at the bottom of the screen, allows you to enter
precise position coordinates in the X, Y and Z fi elds. You can move objects relative to their current location using the
Move fi eld also found in the Options toolbar by entering a value, checking the X, Y, or Z axis checkboxes and clicking
