Tutorial: Making a Light Bulb

To create a simple light, follow these steps:
1 In the Solid Object Editor, add a primitive where you want a light object to be located. A cube or cylinder can be
fashioned into a simple light source. Be sure the object is selected.
2 Open a Player view (F4) if need be and frame the object (Ctrl+Shft+0) that is to be the light. Select the Edit
Texture Tool in the Texture Tools toolbar and click on the object. Enable the Emits Light option in the Surface tab
of the Inspector palette. Set the Emitted Brightness to 100 and Self-Illumination Factor to 1.
3 In the Lighting Controls palette's Controls tab, Click on preview then the Start button in the Lighting Control
palette.
Lights can be made from existing scene objects. Above is a recessed ceiling light, made from a cylinder with Surfaces set to
6, that adds light to the scene when set as an emissive object.
