4.2.7 Check List for Installing the CD-ROM Reader
Here is a check list to refer to when installing an optional Pioneer
CD-ROM Reader into drive bay three of the DRM-5004X.
1. Power off the DRM-504X and unplug the power cord from the
wall outlet and from the unit.
2. Pre-Configure the Reader.
A. Orient the Servo mechanism of the drive for
installation into a Left or Right Drive Bay.
B. If necessary, disassemble the Reader to set Jumper
Pin 6 on the circuit board for sector size (DEFAULT is
ON=2048K, OFF-512K.)
C. If necessary, set Termination on the Reader.
3. Raise the Disc Transporter Using Test Mode or Manually.
4. Remove the Lower Clamper Assembly.
5. Remove the Drive Bay Covers.
6. Install the Additional Reader into Drive Bay 3.
NOTE: Readers can be installed into any of the four drive bays.
7. Replace the Lower Clamper Assembly.
8. Enable Power on the Rear Power Board for the Reader installed in
drive bay three. Replace the rear panel cover.
9. Reconnect the power cord to the DRM-5004X and to the wall
outlet. Power on the unit.
10. Test, see page 4-23, Section 4.3. If the unit fails the test,
check power light on drive, check termination. If the drive still
fails the test, recheck installation steps. If necessary, refer to
Service.
11. Repack the DRM-5004X.
