Troubleshooting

7. Basic Troubleshooting

7.1 If the Unit does not Initialize

Make sure that the shipping handles are removed from all magazines
inside the unit. Also, make sure magazines are seated properly and
are secure. If either of these conditions are not met, the unit may not
initialize.
Make sure the terminator block is on SCSI Connector B for a stan-
dard two reader installation. Also, make sure the power is turned
OFF whenever a terminator block or SCSI Cable is attached to or
removed from the unit. If the power is on, it could cause the termina-
tion fuse to blow. If this should happen, a temporary bypass would
be to terminate the last drive installed.

7.2 If the SCSI Host Adapter cannot find the Unit

1) Verify that the green LED on the inside top rail is ON. The red
LED should be OFF.

2) All magazines must be seated securely.
3) All green shipping plates must be removed.
4) The front door must be closed securely.
5) The Input Voltage switch on the Middle Rear Connection Board
must be set to 120V for use in the United States.
6) Power-OFF the unit and disconnect the SCSI connection between
the unit and the computer. Then power-ON the unit. See if the green
LED on the inside top rail is ON. If not, call Service.
