Test Mode

5. Test Mode
CAUTION: When using Test Mode, extreme caution must be exer-
cised. Follow the examples for running tests precisely. In Test Mode,
the intelligent back up systems of the DRM-5004X are overridden
and it is possible to put more than one disc into a single tray. If this
happens, it can damage the unit or the discs. Only trained personnel
should use Test Mode. Contact Service for full information.
The DRM-5004X CD-ROM Jukebox has buttons on the inside front
panel that allow the user to enter Test Mode. Test Mode is used pri-
marily by service personnel in troubleshooting and repair. It can also
be used to confirm that all mechanical components are working prop-
erly. It enables a limited degree of manual control over the unit.
5
Certain tests can be used to exercise the unit to assure that all
components are functioning properly.
This chapter describes how the buttons on the inside front right rail
are used to enter Test Mode and also how to set modes and
submodes within Test Mode. The five digit LED on the inside top rail
provides a visual indicator describing various mode and submode
settings, confirming numerical input and providing status and error
code information.
NOTE: To enter Test Mode, it is necessary to use a door bypass jig.
