4.4 Installing a CD-R Writer in Drive Bay Four

After the DRM-5004X has been set up and tested for the basic two
reader configuration (refer to Chapter 3, Set Up), additional Pioneer
CD-ROM Readers or CD-R Writers may be installed in the next avail-
able drive bays. This section describes steps to follow to custom con-
figure the DRM-5004X by adding a Pioneer CD-R Writer.
NOTE: These instructions can be used to install more than one writer.
4.4.1 Select Additional Drives to be Installed
Decide which additional drives will be needed for the specific applica-
tion. Although two Pioneer CD-ROM Readers are often installed in
the basic DRM-5004X configuration, any combination of up to four
CD-ROM Readers or CD-R Writers can be installed in the DRM-5004X
CD-ROM Jukebox. Writers are usually installed separately, each on
its own separate SCSI bus, so there are no interruptions while data is
being written to the CD-Recordable disc. Install the drive into the next
available drive bay.
NOTE: A special clamper hub that ships with the writer must be
installed into the clamper assembly before the writer is installed. See
page 4-41 for instructions on removing the clamper assembly, then
refer to directions below:
