Test Mode
5.1.1 How to Enter Test Mode
To enter Test Mode, open the door of the unit and bypass the door
latch by using the bypass jig. Contact Service for details. See
Appendix E, Pioneer Technical Resource Numbers. Then press the
TM button for more than 3 seconds. When Test Mode is activated,
Mode 0 and submode 0 are automatically selected. The LED displays
the mode number 0, submode number 0 and the lower 3 digits indi-
cating the ROM version number. See Figure 5-3, Illuminated Display

NOTE: Digit 3 from the left on the LED display is unused.
NOTE: The ROM version number is the same as the version stated in

SCSI Inquiry ID statement under computer control at boot-up.
5.1.2 How to Select Modes and Sub-Modes within Test Mode
To select a specific mode, 0 - 6, within Test Mode, push the button
labeled MD+. Whenever MD+ is pressed, the mode number is increased
as follows: 0-1-2-3-4-5-6. To select a specific submode, press SM+ or
SM- button. Pressing SM+ increases the submode number. Pressing
SM- decreases the submode number. The selected mode and submode
numbers are shown in the first two digits, as shown in Figure 5-3,
