B. Inside the Front Door
When the front door is opened, the drive units, disc transporter, disc
magazines, and other elements such as switches and mode setting
buttons are accessible.
See Figure 2-4, Internal Configuration. Here are descriptions of the
DRM-5004X elements located inside the front door:
1. Display - The display shows information about the SCSI ID set-
tings, ROM version number, number of disc changes, and infor-
mation in Test Mode. See Figure 2-5, Display.
2. Magazines - Five magazines, each hold 100 discs.
3. Drives #1 & #2 - Pioneer DR-D504X Readers. These two readers
are typically part of the basic configuration of the DRM-5004X.
4. Green LED - Indicator light that shows the DRM-5004X is ready
for operation.
5. Red LED - Indicator light that shows an error has occurred.
6. Power Switch - Switch to turn power on to the DRM-5004X.
7. Mode Setting Buttons - See Figure 2-6, Inside Front Panel
Switches, A - Mode Setting Buttons. These buttons are used to
set the values of the SCSI ID and commands the Display to pro-
vide other information, for example, the total disc exchange
times. See Section 3.8.2, page 3-13. These buttons are also
used for Test Mode. See Chapter 5 for details.
8. Rotary Switch - This switch should be set to zero. It is unused.
See Figure 2-6, Inside Front Panel Switches, C - Dial.
9. DIP Switch - All switches should be set to off (down). These are
unused. See Figure 2-6, Inside Front Panel Switches, B - DIP
Switches.
10. Disc Transporter - This mechanism picks up discs and moves
them between the magazines and the drives.
12. Drives #3 and #4 (Optional) - Additional drive bays allow the
custom configuration of the DRM-5004X to hold additional
DR-D504X readers or DR-R504X writers.
NOTE: Any combination of up to four drives, Readers or Writers, can
be installed into the drive bays. See Chapter 4, Custom Configuration.
