2.1.3 Disc Magazine
Five disc magazines each hold 100 discs. The magazines are stationary
storage compartments for the discs within the DRM-5004X. See Figure
2-10, Disc Magazine. Each magazine has the following features.
1. Shipping Plate Holder - Slots where the shipping plates are
installed.
2. Disc Holder - Plastic guides to hold discs in place.
3. Disc Stopper - The gray slots and back wall of the disc magazine.
4. Lock Release Lever - This releases magazines from the unit.
5. Guide Rail - The rail guides placement of the disc magazine
when loading or unloading the magazine in the DRM-5004X.
6. Encoder/Sensor Plate - This sensor for vertical address data
indicates to the disc transporter when it has reached a desired
disc location.
CAUTION: Do not touch or damage this sensor.
7. Shipping Plate - The shipping plate locks the discs into the disc
magazine to prevent them from slipping out while moving the
disc magazine.
CAUTION: Do not ship or store the magazines with discs loaded.
Also, do not ship the DRM-5004X with discs inside the magazines or
with magazines installed.
2.1.4 Disc Transporter
The disc transporter is the mechanism that moves discs between the
magazines and the reader or writer units. It moves on a rail system
that is the height of the interior of the jukebox. See Figure 2-11 and
Figure 2-12, Top View of Disc Transporter Cover.
1. Red Shutter - This shutter prevents discs from being removed or
slipping from the disc transporter during movement between the
magazines and the drives.
2. Shutter Closed - Shutter is closed when transporting a disc.
3. Shutter Opened - Shutter is open when disc transporter is empty.
