14 Palm Rest

CAUTION: Before working inside your computer, follow the safety instructions in the
XFR D630 Product Information Guide and in the XFR D630 User's Guide.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by
periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on the back of the
computer).

Removing the Palm Rest

1. Follow the instructions in

3. Remove any installed media bay device (see
4. Remove the keyboard (see
5. Remove the display assembly (see
6. Disconnect the coin-cell battery from the system board (see
NOTE: You can leave the coin-cell battery in place (on the palm rest) unless you are
installing a replacement palm rest, in which case you need to remove the coin-cell battery
and place it in the replacement palm rest.
7. Remove the five screws from the top of the palm rest.
