21.3 device Access and Login

I forgot the IP address for the device.
The default IP address is 192.168.1.2.

Use the commands through the console port to check the IP address. Connect your computer to the

CONSOLE port using a console cable. Your computer should have a terminal emulation
communications program (such as HyperTerminal) set to VT100 terminal emulation, no parity, 8
data bits, 1 stop bit, no flow control and 115200 bps port speed.
If this does not work, you have to reset the device to its factory defaults. See

I cannot see or access the Login screen in the web configurator.
Make sure you are using the correct IP address.

• The default IP address is 192.168.1.2.
• If you changed the IP address, use the new IP address.
• If you changed the IP address and have forgotten it, see the troubleshooting suggestions for
forgot the IP address for the device.
Check the hardware connections, and make sure the LEDs are behaving as expected. See the Quick

Make sure your Internet browser does not block pop-up windows and has JavaScripts and Java

enabled.
Make sure your computer is in the same subnet as the device. (If you know that there are routers

between your computer and the device, skip this step.)
• If there is no DHCP server on your network, make sure your computer's IP address is in the
same subnet as the device.
Reset the device to its factory defaults, and try to access the device with the default IP address.
