Outer Rails

The outer rails come in two pieces and attach to the rack to hold the server in place. The
rails extend between 30 inches and 33 inches.
Attaching the Two Pieces of the Outer Rails Together
1. The outer rails come in two pieces. Each piece has two ends, one fixed end and one
sliding end. See the drawing below.
2. Connect the sliding ends by following the top and bottom grooves and sliding them
together. Make sure the screw fits into its groove.
3. Use the rack to determine how far to extend the rails. Slide the rails until the front end
meets the front of the rack and the rear end meets the rear of the rack.
4. Secure the front end of the rail with two M5 screws and the rear end of the rail with
three M5 screws.
5. Secure the sliding screw by installing and tightening a nut on the threaded end of the
screw.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for the remaining outer rail.
