Fan Headers
There are six 4-pin fan headers (FAN1-FAN6) on the motherboard. All these 4-pin fan headers
are backwards compatible with the traditional 3-pin fans. However, fan speed control is
available for 4-pin fans only by Thermal Management via the IPMI 2.0 interface. Refer to the
table below for pin definitions.
M.2 Slot
This motherboard has one M.2 slot (M.2 NVME). M.2 was formerly known as Next Generation
Form Factor (NGFF) and serves to replace mini PCIe. M.2 allows for a variety of card sizes,
increased functionality, and spatial efficiency. The M.2 slots on the motherboard supports
PCIe 3.0 x2 in the 22110 and 2280 form factors.

SATA 3.0 Ports
This motherboard has ten SATA 3.0 ports (SATA0
ports are located on the motherboard supported by the chipset through SlimSAS connector
that supports eight SATA3 devices or two PCIe 3.0 x4 devices.
In addition, this motherboard has two SATA 3.0 ports (SATA8, SATA9) that can be used with
Supermicro SuperDOM's SATA DOM connectors with power pins built in, and do not require
external power cables. Supermicro SuperDOMs are backward compatible with regular SATA
drives or SATA DOMs that need external power cables.
