−
Never store the machine or fuel container where there is an open flame or sparks, such as a gas
water heater, space heater, tumble dryer or oven.
−
To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine and silencer free of dirt. Wipe up any oil and petrol spills.
Allow the machine to cool down for at least 5 minutes before storing it.
−
Never attempt to make any adjustments while the engine is running.
OPERATION
−
Never place hands, feet, or any part of the body in the chipper's chute, outlet opening or near or
under any moving part while the engine is running. Always keep a distance from the outlet opening
at all times. If it becomes necessary to push material into the chipper cleaner, use a small diameter
stick, NOT YOUR HANDS.
−
Keep your face and body away from the chipper's chute to avoid accidental bounce back of material.
−
Only operate the machine on a flat surface. Never use your device on a slippery, wet, muddy, or icy
surface.
−
Be aware of hidden hazards and traffic. Do not allow passengers to sit on the machine.
−
If the cutting mechanism hits a foreign object or if the machine starts making unusual noises or
vibrations, stop the engine immediately and proceed as follows:
−
Remove the spark plug cable(s) and wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop.
−
Inspect for any damage
−
Repair or replace any damaged parts before restarting and using the machine.
Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling.
−
−
If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally, stop the engine immediately, wait for all moving parts to
come to a complete stop and investigate the cause. Vibrations are generally a warning sign of
trouble.
−
Stop the engine when leaving the operating position and when making repairs, adjustments, and
inspections. ALWAYS KEEP A DISTANCE TO THE DISCHARGE CHUTE.
−
Take all possible precautions as recommended by the supplier when leaving the machine
unattended. Press the emergency stop button.
−
Before cleaning, repairing, or inspecting, shut off the engine and make sure the blade drum and
other moving parts have come to a complete stop. Disconnect the spark plug wire and keep the wire
away from the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
−
Never run this machine in an enclosed area as the exhaust from the engine contains carbon
monoxide, which is an odorless, tasteless, and deadly poisonous gas.
−
Keep all guards and safety devices in place and operating properly. Do not operate the machine if all
safety guards are not in place.
−
Do not use the unit with the chipper hopper removed.
−
The muffler and engine become hot and can cause serious burns. Do not touch.
−
Keep children and pets away.
−
Tragic accidents can happen if the operator is not alert of the presence of small children.
−
Keep children out of the work area and under the supervision of a responsible adult other
than the operator.
−
Be alert and switch off the machine if a child approaches.
