the controls and the correct use of the machine before operating it. Keep this manual in a safe place
for future reference and for ordering spare parts.

instruction. Only responsible persons familiar with these rules for safe operation should be
authorised to use this device.
Keep the work area clear of all persons, especially small children, and pets. Stop the engine when
they are near the device. Keep the work area clean and free of branches and obstacles that could
cause a trip or fall.
Remember that the operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards that occur to other
people, their property and themselves.
The chipper is a powerful tool, not a toy. Always use extreme caution. The machine is intended for
chipping wood. Do not use it for any other purpose.
If situations arise that are not described in this manual, use caution and good judgement.

PREPARATION

Check the area where the equipment will be used and remove all foreign objects.
Do not use the machine without wearing adequate protection and safety glasses.
Always wear safety glasses or goggles during operation and while performing adjustments or repairs
to protect your eyes from foreign objects that can be thrown out of the machine.
Make sure your glasses or goggles fit correctly.
Avoid loose-fitting clothing and wear protective footwear for better traction on slippery surfaces.
Shirt and trousers that cover arms and legs and steel-toed boots are recommended.
Wear your hair above your shoulders. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that can get caught in
moving parts. Never operate the device in bare feet, sandals, or trainers. Wear gloves when feeding
material into the chipper's hopper. Ensure that the gloves fit properly.
WARNING
Fuel is highly flammable, and the vapours are explosive. Take the following precautions.
Store fuel and oil in approved containers.
Keep away from heat and open flames and out of the reach of children.
Only refuel outdoors and do not smoke while refuelling.
Check and refuel before starting the engine. Never remove the petrol cap or add fuel while the
engine is running or when the engine is hot. Allow the engine to cool down before refuelling.
If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine, but move the machine away from the area and
avoid creating any source of ignition until the fuel vapours have dissipated.
Replace all fuel tank and canister covers securely.
