Image Defects

Problem
Cause
• Toner cartridge is not installed
properly.
Blank or white
pages
• A higher density is set when
printing.
• The print media does not meet the
usage specification. For example, the
print media is textured, damp, or too
rough.
• The paper used has been stored in
Dark print
the air for a prolonged time.
• The tray fails to load the media
properly.
• Toner cartridge is not installed
properly.
Ghost images
• Toner cartridge is not installed
properly.
• The feed channel is dirty.
• Scanning exposure.
• If a gray or colored background
appears during copying or scanning,
the glass platen may be dirty.

Solution
• Pull out the toner cartridge tray, remove
the toner cartridge, then insert the toner
cartridge, and insert the toner cartridge
tray.
• Depending on your operating system,
adjust the toner density from "Printing
Preferences" or "Print" dialog according to
your operating system; or adjust the print
density on the printer control panel.
• Please properly use the print media within
the specification range.
• Keep the paper in its original wrapper
before use.
• Make the "Full Calibration" settings. See
Color Calibration
for how to set it.
• Please load the paper correctly. See
Paper Feeding
for how to feed the paper
correctly.
• Pull out the toner cartridge tray, remove
the toner cartridge, then insert the toner
cartridge, and insert the toner cartridge
tray.
• Make "Position Calibration" or "Full
Calibration" settings. Please refer to
Calibration
for how to set them.
• Pull out the toner cartridge tray, remove
the toner cartridge, then insert the toner
cartridge, and insert the toner cartridge
tray.
• Clean the feed channel.
• Please close the cover on the manuscript,
and then carry out copying and scanning.
• Clean the platen glass.
