Country
Choosing a country initializes:
• the settings for the public telephone network,
• the language by default.
To select the country:
Select the required option and press OK to confirm.
Network
This setting selects the type of public telephone network so that the machine can
communicate over the public network of the country you have chosen in compliance
with the applicable standards.
Note:
These settings are different from the NETWORK TYPE (p. 4-2), which
selects either a public or a private network.
To select the network:
Select the required option and press OK to confirm.
Language
This setting selects a language other than that imposed by the COUNTRY setting.
To select the language:
Select the required option and press OK to confirm.

Local prefix

This function is used when the machine is installed on a private network, behind a
company's PABX. It allows you to program an additional automatic local prefix (to be
defined) so the machine can automatically exit the company's telephone network
system, but only when:
• the company's internal numbers, where a prefix is not required, is no longer than
the minimum length,
• the external numbers requiring a prefix, are long numbers greater or equal to the
minimum length.
Programming the fax with the local prefix consists of two steps:
• defining the minimum length of the company's external numbers,
