Reprocessing

CAUTION!  Risk of contamination! Perform reprocessing immediately
after treatment, after 1 hour at the latest.
WARNING!  Risk of infection! Reprocess your instrument as
described in the following steps.
7.1

Manual cleaning with a brush

IMPORTANT: When carrying out manual reprocessing, the national/
local regulations must be followed. These must be checked beforehand.
NOTICE!  Never clean in an ultrasonic bath!
CAUTION!  Risk of injury! Never immerse in disinfectants!
CAUTION!  Risk of contamination! Use a soft, clean, and disinfected
brush for thorough cleaning.
IMPORTANT: The Midwest Handpiece Cleaner is a surfactant.
CAUTION!  Risk of injury! Do not use agents containing hydrogen
peroxide (H
O
) or chloride.

ü Wear suitable protective clothing.
ü The air and water lines are purged for 30 seconds.
1. Thoroughly brush the product under running water (<38 °C,
<100 °F, at least drinking water quality) for at least 10 seconds.
2. Use a soft, clean, and disinfected brush for thorough cleaning.
Midwest Handpiece Cleaner Plus can be used to support the
process.
The instruments must be rinsed to remove disinfectant residue for
the subsequent steps.
3. Check at good lighting (min. 500 lux) if the product is clean after
reprocessing.
4. If there is any contamination, repeat the process.
5. Lubricate mechanical parts automatically  [→ 16] or manually 
[→ 16].
6. Lubricate the push button chuck  [→ 17].
7. Perform sterilization  [→ 18] afterwards.
