Lubricate the push button chuck

Use Midwest Plus Spray on the push-button chuck to remove deposits
and ensure proper functioning of the clamping system.
CAUTION!  Risk of injury! Make sure you observe the following intervals.
Interval
● At least once a week
Required accessories
● Midwest® Plus Spray
CAUTION!  Risk of injury! Use only Midwest® Plus Spray.
Procedure
ü The instrument is clean.
1. Press the contra-angle handpiece head with the chuck firmly
against the spray can nozzle.
2. Spray the chuck for 1-2 seconds.
IMPORTANT: Hold the spray can upright.
3. Wipe away any spray that runs out with a clean, lint-free cloth.
4. Repeat the process until the spray that runs out is clear.
5. Purge the instrument with compressed air (3 bar) for 10 seconds.

Clean cooling spray nozzle opening

CAUTION!  Risk of burns! Regularly clean the openings of the
cooling spray nozzles with the cleaning wire.
Interval
● At least once a week
Procedure
ü The instrument is clean and lubricated.
1. Carefully clean the nozzle openings by regularly running a cleaning
wire through them.
2. Let the instrument run briefly with cooling spray.
CAUTION!  Risk of burns! Insufficient cooling leads to overheating of
the preparation site and to damage to the tooth substance. Ensure that
the water content is ≥ 50 mL/min.

Cleaning the fiber optic surfaces

Interval
● Check and clean if needed
Procedure
ü The instrument is clean and lubricated.
ü A Q-tip/cloth and alcohol are available.
1. In order to avoid scratching the surfaces, blow off any dirt particles
with air from a dry syringe.
2. Wipe the surfaces with a Q-tip or a soft cloth and alcohol.
