Operating Button-Based Consoles
The button's red LED winks while the button is pressed. When the button is released, it
goes on if Playback is active, blinks if IRR Playback or Pause has been initiated by
another position, or else goes off.
The button's green LED goes on when playback is paused, otherwise it is off.
On the console position that initiated the IRR function, the display shows the active IRR
message number while playing or paused. All other positions displays a "IRR Busy"
prompt, indicating that all IRR functions except Record are disabled for them.
Rewind
When this button is pressed, if the IRR is not playing it enters the Pause mode. The IRR
playback pointer is moved back one message each time the button is pressed until the
oldest message has been reached. If the IRR is playing, it enters the Pause mode and the
playback pointer is moved to the beginning of the message that was playing (such that
pressing the PLAY button then replays that message).
If the REWIND button is held down, this function auto repeats until the oldest message is
reached.
A momentary tone is generated in the Select speaker each time the playback pointer is
moved to the next message by this function. When the oldest message has been reached, a
different, continuous tone is output until the button is released.
The console ignores the REWIND button if another position has already invoked this
channel's IRR Playback or Pause function. This button also has no effect if the Channel
Card has no IRR capability or if nothing has yet been recorded.
The REWIND button's red LED turns on when the button is initially pressed, then off if
no IRR response is received from the Channel Card within about one second. The LED
remains on if the IRR playback pointer has not reached the first (oldest) message or blinks
if the IRR playback pointer is now at the first message. The LED always turns off when
the button is released. No IRR response is returned if the Channel Card has no IRR or
nothing has yet been recorded.
On the console position that initiated the IRR function, the display shows the current IRR
message number. All other positions displays a IRR Busy prompt, indicating that all IRR
functions except Record are disabled for them.
Reset
The RESET button cancels IRR Playback or Pause, and resets the playback message
pointer to the beginning of the most recently recorded message. This button has no effect
on the Record mode.
The console ignores this button if another position has already initiated this channel's IRR
Playback or Pause function.
