Initiating a Call
A channel always stores the radio ID of the last call. If the desired destination of the user's
call is the same radio, the user can press one of the standard transmit buttons (Xmit, Inst
Xmit, right mouse button, footswitch, etc.) to setup a voice call. The Send, Send Pri'ty, or
Send Emerg call buttons also initiate a specific type of call to the last radio ID. The radio
ID or alias displays in the Radio ID area of the channel box.
If "Default Call ID" is configured for the channel, any call initiated from this channel is
directed to the ID configured in "Default Call ID".
If you want a different ID, or if you press Status Select, SST Select, or DynGrp Select
from the MAP27 Call submenu or the Subscriber List Window, then you must enter a new
ID. The ID entry can be entered either by pressing a Subscriber ID button on the MAP27
Call submenu or in the Subscriber List Window, or by manually entering the ID from the
keyboard or audio panel keypad.
Once the call is connected and the operator is keying up, if RDPS Go To Channel Beep is
enabled, a beep is activated to inform the operator when the channel is ready for voice
transmission.
