Operating Button-Based Consoles
ANI Select (ANI SELECT)
You may automatically select the channel of the calling ANI unit whose number is shown
in your display, by pressing the ANI SELECT button.
Diagnostic Reset (DIAG RESET)
If your console is equipped with this button, then any diagnostic messages that come to
your display can only be cleared by pressing this button. The red LED of this button is
illuminated as long as a diagnostic message is being displayed. If this happens, you should
write down the message and the time and give it to the maintenance personnel prior to
resetting the message. If not equipped with this button, then the diagnostic message is
cleared when any button on your c
onsole is pressed. This button may also be labeled FAULT ACK.
Speaker/H-Set (SPKR/H-SET)
Pressing the SPEAKER/H-SET button causes the select audio (and optionally the
unselect audio) to be rerouted from the speaker to the headset or handset earpiece.
Pressing the button again routes the audio back to the speaker. When the audio is routed to
the speaker, the green LED on the button is illuminated; when routed to the head/handset,
the red LED is illuminated. If used in parallel with a handset hookswitch or a headset
jackbox, the LEDs show the route of the automatically switched audio. This button may be
used to override the automatic routing.
Priority Marker (PRI'TY MARKER)
Pressing this button enables the priority marker for the currently selected channel. This
function emits a brief tone over the radio channel every few seconds while radio traffic is
idle. While the priority marker is enabled on the selected channel, the red LED on the
button is illuminated. While it is illuminated, pressing the button again disables the marker
on the selected channel. Markers operating on unselected channels are indicated by a
blinking red LED on the PRIORITY MARKER button.
Clock Set (CLOCK SET)
The CLOCK SET button should only be operated on the supervisor's console. When
momentarily pressed, the console enters the clock set mode. The display changes to a time
display with one of its time units flashing. The flashing unit is adjusted using the
CHANNEL VOLUME knob. The first unit to be adjusted is the seconds. The next five
momentary presses of CLOCK SET then allows you to adjust the minutes, hours, month,
day and year in order. The right hand decimal point is illuminated when the month/day/
year is being displayed. Pressing CLOCK SET on more time while the year is flashing
returns the console from the clock set mode. When the entire time and date have been set,
all other consoles in the system synchronize to the new time/date.
