4.
Use special care when working on corners, sharp
edges or flexible material. These workpieces have
a tendency to snag the cutting accessory.
5.
Support large panels to minimize the risk of
pinching the cutting accessory (Fig. 3). Large
panels may sag under their own weight. Place
supports under the panel on both sides of the
cutline. Place other supports under the rest of the
panels to prevent them from falling after the cut.
6.
Maintain the cutting edge of the tool. A dull edge is more likely
to slip from the workpiece.
7.
Beware of the cutting blade becoming pinched within a workpiece.
This will create strong reactive forces and lead to unexpected
movement. If blade does become pinched, extract and check for any
damage and ensure sharpness before continuing.
7.1 Operate the tool at top speed to avoid pinching or jamming.
8.
To avoid kickback:
8.1 Take special care when inserting the blade into an existing cut.
8.2 Position the workpiece so that the cut
remains open throughout operation.
8.3 Never use the kickback zone of the
blade for cutting (Fig. 4). Use the lower
quadrant of the blade.
This tool is equipped with a muffler designed to keep noise levels to a
minimum and to direct exhaust fumes away from the operator.
1.
Always ensure the muffler is complete and is secured correctly.
2.
The muffler gets hot during use. Do not touch during or shortly after
operation and keep away from flammable sources.
3.
Wear hearing protection gear with an appropriate Noise Reduction
Rating to withstand the decibel levels.
This tool is equipped with a vibration damping system designed to reduce
vibration between the engine and the handle.
