To change the starter cord, accomplish the following:
1.
Loosen the screws that hold the starter against the crankcase and
remove the starter.
2.
Replace with a new cord.
3.
Reassemble and reattach the starter.
The following should be performed regularly:
•
Check the tightness of the fuel cap seal.
•
Check the fuel hose for cracks or damage.
•
Check the fuel filter for damage or clogs.
Clean or replace as necessary.
CAUTION! Unhealthy dust or
debris can be spread while
changing a filter. Wear
approved personal protective
equipment and dispose of filter
correctly.
If the engine drops in power, check the air
filter by accomplishing the following:
1.
Loosen the screws and remove the air
filter cover (#3) (Fig 28).
2.
Loosen the screws and remove the cover (Fig. 29).
3.
Remove the old filter and replace with new filter.
Check the clutch centre, drive gear and cutch
spring regularly for wear.
Check the nozzles on the bladeguard and the
filter in the water connection for clogging.
Clean as necessary (Fig. 30).
