1.
Loosen the 3 bolts holding the upper
belt guard (Fig. 25-1).
2.
Turn the belt tensioner (#22) to the
"0" position to release the tension
(Fig. 25).
3.
Remove the upper belt guard and
the rear belt guard (Fig. 26).
4.
Replace the drive belt.
5.
Turn the belt tensioner to the "1"
position to tighten.
6.
Replace the belt guards.
7.
Replace and tighten the screws
slightly.
8.
Wiggle the blade guard up and down 3–5 times.
9.
Tighten the screws securely.
The carburetor is equipped with fixed needles to ensure the tool always
receives the correct mixture of fuel and air.
When the engine lacks power or accelerates poorly, check and replace the
air filter.
To check the carburetor is set correctly, start the engine and place at the
idle setting. If the cutting blade does not remain still, the carburetor is not
set correctly. Accomplish the following
to adjust:
1.
Turn the T screw (Fig. 27-1)
clockwise until the cutting blade
begins to rotate.
2.
Turn the T screw counterclockwise
until the blade stops rotating.
WARNING! When the recoil spring is woud up in the
starter housing, it is under tension and can pop
out, causing injury.
