WARNING! Do not start the tool without first
ensuring all the safety features are intact and
operational, including the blade guard, throttle
trigger lockout, and stop switch.
WARNING! Do not start the tool without the belt
and the belt guard fitted. Otherwise the cultch
could come loose and cause injury.
WARNING! The cutting blade rotates when the engine
is started. Make sure it can rotate freely.
1.
Make sure that the stop switch is in the correct position.
2.
Pull out the choke control (#6) completely.
3.
Depress the decompression valve (#17).
4.
Press the air purge diaphragm about 6 times or
repeatedly (#18) until fuel begins to fill the
diaphragm.
5.
Grip the front handle (#1) with your left hand
(Fig. 15).
6.
Put your right foot on the lower section of the
rear handle (Fig. 15-1).
7.
Pull the starter handle (#10) with your right hand
until the engine starts (Fig. 15).
7.1 Do not twist the starter cord around your hand.
7.2 Do not pull starter cord all the way out.
7.3 Do not let go of starter cord when fully extended, allowing it to
snap back aggressively. This can damage the tool.
8.
As soon as the engine starts, push in the choke control.
9.
Press the throttle trigger to disengage the start throttle and let the
tool idle.
