Test the abrasive blade's integrity by hanging it on
your finger and tapping lightly with a screw driver
(Fig. 21). If it does not produce a resonant, ringing
sound, it is damaged and needs to be replaced.
Diamond blades can become dull when cutting
certain materials regularly or when too much
pressure is applied during operation. Sharpen
regularly by cutting into a soft material, such as
sandstone or brick.
Regularly check to ensure diamond blades are
wearing correctly. The diamond segment (Fig. 22-
1) should always be wider than the blade core
(Fig. 22-2).
NOTICE! A dirty or blocked air
intake can result in overheating,
which causes damages to the
piston and cylinder.
Clean the cooling air intake daily (Fig. 23).
NOTICE! Always use the recommended spark plug
type. The wrong type can cause damage to the
piston and cylinder.
If the tool is low on power, difficult to start or runs
poorly at idle speed, always check the spark plug first.
Ensure that the spark plug cap and ignition lead are
undamaged.
If the spark plug is dirty, clean it.
Ensure that the electrode gap is 0.5 mm (Fig. 24-1).
Clean the air filter.
Ensure the fuel mixture is correct.
