IVR EC – Jet Fans
− Compare power consumption with rating plate.
− Test functionality of motor protection device!
− Check protective conductor connection.
− Check sealing of connection cable in the terminal box and fixed clamping of wires.
− The motor will start automatically when the operating voltage is applied, a setpoint specification exists (0-
10 V) and a release exists (type-dependent) Accordingly, appropriate measures must be taken to protect
against access to touchable, dangerous, moving parts
Commissioning may only take place if protection against accidental contact is ensured
− Remove assembly residues from fan.
− Check fan for inadmissible vibrations and noises during test run.
− Check fan with regard to inadmissible vibrations.

39 Operation

Regularly check the proper functioning of the fan:
− Check unhindered running of the impeller
− Check power consumption
− Check any vibrations and noises
− Removal of dust and dirt deposits in the housing or on the motor and impeller
41 Servicing and maintenance
m Risk of injury due to falling parts!
− Wear a safety helmet for maintenance work.
m Risk of injury due to incorrectly executed maintenance work!
Ensure there is sufficient installation clearance before the start of work. Make sure that the installation site is tidy and
clean! Loose components and tools lying on top of or around each other are causes of accidents. If components have
been removed, make sure the components are correctly reinstalled and complete. Observe the screw tightening torques.
Note the following before recommissioning:
− Ensure that all maintenance work has been carried out and completed pursuant to the data and information in these
instructions.
− Ensure that there are no persons in the danger area.
− Ensure that all covers and safety devices are installed and fully functional.
Observe test and maintenance plans, see CHAPTER 8 on page 18.
− Excessive deposits of dirt, dust, grease and other materials on the impeller, motor and protection guard especially
between the inlet nozzle and impeller is to be avoided and has to be prevented by periodical cleaning.
− Impeller inspection recommended at two month intervals.
− Shorter intervals are required in case of corrosive media.
− Functional tests must be carried out at max. six-monthly intervals, and upon recommissioning in case of longer
periods of standstill.
− Maintenance must be carried out once annually, otherwise upon recommissioning.
− Please check:
• Screw connections, particularly impeller fastening. Without loosening screws!
• Housing / impeller surface coating (e.g. rust, paint damage)
• Bearing noises
• Damage
• Vibrations
• Deposits of dirt
• Current consumption
• Function of the safety components
• Motor bearing
− It is recommended to keep a system maintenance log and enter the performed tests and test results. Compare
the results with the results from previous tests. Should the parameters differ, please contact the manufacturer.

42 Cleaning

m An insulation fault can give you an electric shock!
The fan must be fully isolated from the power supply and secured against restarting before cleaning.
Fully disconnect fan.
m Surface protection/fan must not become damaged!
When cleaning, it must be ensured that the surface protection or components are not damaged. Do not use aggressi-
ve, agents that could damage the paintwork. High-pressure cleaners or jet water are not permitted!
Protect bearing and electrical accessories against moisture.
− Clean dirt and dust from the flow area, impeller, strut and motor. Deposits can be removed with a wire brush.
− Regular inspection with periodic cleaning is necessary to prevent imbalance due to contamination.
− Check the balance condition of the impeller after cleaning.
− All safety devices and covers must be properly reinstalled.
− Defective parts must be replaced.
