Installation and Operating Instructions
EN
IVR EC – Jet Fans
sensors, sprinkler heads and warning signs).
• The operator is responsible for observing all plant-related safety regulations!
• Abnormally frequent activation/deactivation is not permissible.
• Protection against contact for the impeller must be ensured pursuant to DIN EN
13857.
• In order to maintain operational safety, a regular vibration check must be carried
out! Alternatively, the installation of an on-site vibration monitoring system is recom-
mended.
• The planner and operator must ensure easy access for inspection and cleaning
work!
• A uniform inflow and free outlet must be ensured.
• The fan must be protected against deactivation by unauthorised persons (isolator
switch with padlock in the locking system for the operational position).
14 Area of application – Intended use:
Centrifugal jet fans with EC motor are designed for the demand-oriented supply and extract ventilation of parking ga-
rages or commercial and industrial plants. Centrifugal jet fans enable the best possible pollution reduction with minimal
operating costs and noise exposure. They are approved for horizontal installation.
The unit is intended for use in a system. It does not have its own control systems or an autonomous emergency-stop
function. The unit must be equipped with an emergency stop facility before commissioning and it must be integrated in
the safety concept for the system. The emergency stop facilities must be connected so that the occurrence of dange-
rous situations for persons and material assets is ruled out in case of the interruption or activation of the power supply.
The emergency stop facilities must be freely accessible.
Automatic or semi-automatic operation:
If the fan is integrated in a ventilation system and it is operated by a semi-automatic/automatic control, the shutdown
of the fan in case of emergency deactivation must be harmless from a safety perspective. Responsibility for the correct
controlling of the system lies with the operator. The fan itself does not have an emergency stop or emergency stop
facility.
Ventilation operation:
Suitable for supply and extract ventilation with ambient temperatures and constant air flow temperatures of -20 °C to
+40 °C. The centrifugal jet fan serves to reliably improve the air quality. The air pulse from the fan can dilute, mix and
rinse humid or warm air as required. The fan is designed for a system, which reacts to e.g. critical values for temperature,
humidity, CO
or VOC.
2
− Reasonably foreseeable misuse:
The fans are not suitable for operation under difficult conditions, such as constant high levels of humidity, aggressive
media, long standstill periods, heavy contamination, excessive loads due to climatic, technical or electronic influences
as well as the transportation of combustion gases. The same applies for the mobile use of fans (vehicles, aircraft,
ships, etc.).
− Improper, prohibited use:
Installation in direct contact with water. The conveying of explosive gas mixtures/media. Installation in an explosive
area/atmosphere. Operation without standardised safety devices (e.g. protection guard). The conveying of solids or
solid content > 10 μm in transport media and liquids. The conveying of abrasive and/or media that is corrosive to the
fan materials. The conveying of greasy transport media. Transportation of aggressive and explosive gaseous media.
Operation with frozen impellers. Disengaging of fan impeller and balance weights. Blocking or slowing down of fan due
to insertion of objects.

15 Boundaries

Power supply interface:
The power supply is connected via a plastic terminal box fitted to the housing as standard (protection class IP55).
Positioning:
0...4000 m above sea level
≤ 1000 m: no restriction
> 1000 m: max. permissible input current = Current information on rating plate -5 % / 1000 m
> 2000 m: max. permissible mains voltage = max. voltage information on rating plate -1.29 % / 100 m
The motor is approved for a relative humidity of 100 % at a continental climate without further environrmental influen-
ces. Further environmental conditions upon request.
