IVR EC – Jet Fans
m Risk of injury due to incorrect operation!
− Perform all operating steps in accordance with the information in the instructions and the control system provided
by the operator.
− Ensure that all covers and safety devices are installed and properly functioning before the start of work. There
must be no persons in the danger area.
− Never disable or bypass safety devices during operation.
m The rotating impeller can injure fingers/limbs
− Rotating parts in the fan can cause serious injuries.
− Do not disrupt the moving impeller or tamper with the impeller during operation.
− Do not open covers during operation.
− Ensure that the impeller cannot be accessed during operation.
− Deactivate the unit, secure it against reactivation and wait for it to come to a standstill before all work on moving fan
components.
− Wear protective glasses when checking the direction of rotation.
− Wear suitable protective clothing.
m Attention, automatic restart!
− The fan/motor can activate and deactivate automatically for functional reasons.
− After a power failure or disconnection from power supply, the fan will automatically restart after the voltage is res-
tored!
− Wait for the fan to come to a standstill before approaching!
− With regard to the external rotor motor, the external rotor rotates during operation!

Danger to life due to electric shock!
Before any maintenance or installation work or before opening the terminal compartment, the unit is to be fully isolated
from the power supply and secured against unintended restart!
All work safety regulations and installation conditions must be observed during assembly and installation! The fans
must be positioned and installed so that inspections, maintenance and servicing can be carried out easily and safely.
The minimum clearance height for parking garages must be observed (incl. fan). This must not be exceeded. If neces-
sary, another position must be chosen.

33 Functional description
The Centrifugal Jet Fans IVR EC are steplessly speed-controllable by means of 0-10 V control voltage. The devices
are supplied as standard with an internal potentiometer for setting of control voltage allowing speed to be set bet-
ween min. and max. speed. With regard to types without an external release or with an activated external release
and a connected internal potentiometer (delivery 100%), the motor will start automatically when the mains voltage
is applied. For an external speed setting with a 0-10 V control signal, the internal potentiometer must be removed.
Suitable potentiometers (Type PU/A 10), three-step switches (Type SU/A) are offered in the Helios accessories range.
Stepless speed control is possible with the universal controller (Type EUR EC). Alternatively, the electronic differential
pressure/temperature controller EDR / ETR can be used.
34 Assembly
The assembly takes place via 4 mounting options on the housing flange. These are equipped with rubber inlays as
standard to prevent the transmission of structure-borne sound. Align fan in a straight line with a spirit level and lining
plate. Properly attach the fan to the subsurface at all anchor points using suitable dowels and heavy-duty anchors.
Check and ensure that screws are firmly in place!
Mounting to the ceiling using anti-vibration mounts SDZ (accessories) is recommended.
35 Recommended tightening torques for mounting screws
m Risk of injury due to incorrect screw tightening torque
Never exceed the permissible screw tightening torques.
− Observe and regularly check tightening torques.
The tightening torques correspond to the specifications in VDI 2230 Oct-2001.
The following tightening torques for mounting screw and nut connections must be used:
