IVR EC – Jet Fans
m Danger due to the use of unsuitable anchor points
− Use suitable transportation/lifting device and attachment devices. Weight information can be found in section 5.0
or the label on the unit.
− The transport lugs on the motor, bearing or housing are only intended for the weight of the respective unit compo-
nent.
m Danger to life due to suspended loads!
− Never stand/stop beneath suspended loads or in the swivelling area of suspended loads.
− Only use approved lifting devices and slings with sufficient load bearing capacity.
− Do not place lifting equipment such as ropes and belts on sharp edges and corners, do not knot and do not twist.
− Wear safety helmet and protective footwear to protect against falling parts.

24 Receipt

The shipment must be checked for damage and correctness immediately upon delivery. If there is any damage,
promptly report the damage with the assistance of the transport company. If complaints are not made within the agreed
period, any claims could be lost.

25 Storage

m Risk of injury due to rotating impeller!
Serious injuries can be caused due to the rotary motion of the impeller.
− In case of the manual rotation of the impeller during storage, only turn the impeller briefly and only step back into the
danger area once the impeller has come to a standstill.
− Protect the impeller against uncontrolled rotation.
− Promptly re-attach separating safety devices.
− Wear suitable protective gloves.
The maximum permissible standstill period for the fan components depends on the existing corrosion protection
classes and the possible storage type. Depending on the storage type and duration, the corrosion protection must
be renewed.
Storage type
In dry, closed rooms
In roofed open or closed damp rooms
Outside in normal climate, bearing housing
protected against spray water and electric
parts protected against moisture
Outside in coastal climate or especially
aggressive environment
A max. storage temperature of 60 °C is permitted during a standstill period. In case of a higher standstill temperature,
the bearings and the motor must be cooled down.
When storing for a prolonged time, the following steps are to be taken to avoid damaging influences:
The storage site must be waterproof, vibration-free and free of temperature variations. Storage temperature -20 °C to
+60 °C; these limit values must not be exceeded. The max. standstill period is 12 months. Carefully turn impeller by
hand once per month (1-2 rotations).
Motor protection with dry, air and dust-proof packaging (plastic bag with drying agent and moisture indicators). In case
of separate storage, turn motor by hand once per month (1-2 rotations).
When transhipping (especially over longer distances), it must be checked whether the packaging is suitable for the
method and manner of transportation. Damages due to improper transportation, storage or commissioning must be
verified and are not liable for warranty.

26 Series version

The Helios jet fans with EC motor are available in two different sizes and versions (alternating current or three-phase
current). These installation and operating instructions shall apply for the jet fans:
IVRW EC 400
IVRD EC 450
Binding information on the individual fan types can be found on the type plate.

27 Performance data

The motor type plate gives an indication of the electrical values. These must be coordinated with the local supply
network. The fan performance* was established on a test stand according to DIN EN ISO 5801:2010-12; it applies to
the nominal speed and standard design using an inlet nozzle, with a protection guard with unhindered inflow and
outflow. In this respect, different versions and unfavourable installation and operating conditions can lead to a reduction
of output.
