5.1.2 Verifying and configuring the backup software
solution
This task only applies to Japan.
This is a customer procedure.
Depending on the backup software solution, it may be necessary to disable or
delete the backup drive from the backup software drive list before starting the
maintenance task.

5.1.3 Backing up the setting information of BIOS or
BMC
When the system board is serviced or replaced and the BIOS/BMC firmware is
updated, the BIOS/BMC configuration settings revert to the factory settings.
When replacing the system board or updating the BIOS/BMC firmware,
proceed for the configuration settings changed or set by the customer as
follows:
▶ Record and store the BIOS/BMC configuration settings.
▶ Reconfigure the BIOS/BMC configuration settings.

Switching on the UID indicators

For easy identification of the server, switch on the UID indicators, especially
when working in a datacenter environment or a server room.
The UID indicators can also be activated using IPMI.
