Notes on adjusting the lights when driving abroad
Vehicles with static LED headlamps: Before cross-
ing the border into countries in which traffic
drives on the other side of the road, it is neces-
sary to convert the headlamps to symmetrical low
beam (
page 202).

Once the headlamps have been converted:
Oncoming traffic will not be dazzled.

The edge of the road will not be illuminated as
R
far or as high.
The headlamps must be reset to asymmetrical low
beam when you return from abroad.
Vehicles with Intelligent Light System: As a conve-
nience function, the headlamps will automatically
switch when you cross the border into countries
where traffic drives on the other side of the road.
If necessary, the headlamps can also be adjusted
manually on the
Low beam
menu (
The automatic light adjustment function is availa-
ble:
If automatic is selected on the

menu
If the navigation and the navigation position

are available
In the following cases, check the headlamp set-
ting and change it manually if necessary:
If the
Low beam setting (left/right-side traf-

fic) Manual adjustment only
is displayed.
If the
Check low beam setting (left/right-

display message is displayed.
Following manual adjustment:

Damaged tyres can cause tyre pressure loss.

Check the tyres regularly for signs of

damage and replace any damaged tyres
immediately.
& WARNING Risk of aquaplaning due to
insufficient tyre tread
Insufficient tyre tread will result in reduced
display message
tyre grip.
The risk of aquaplaning is increased on wet
roads, especially when the speed of the vehi-
cle is not adapted to suit the conditions.
Thus, you should regularly check the

tread depth and the condition of the
tread across the entire width of all tyres.
Minimum tread depth for:
Summer tyres: 3 mm
