Interface Commands

The various commands to access the Bath controller functions from the digital interfaces are in
Table
5. Use the commands with the RS-232 serial interface and the IEEE-488 GPIB interface.
Commands are terminated with a carriage-return character (Cr, ASCII 13). The interface makes
no distinction between upper and lower case letters, use either. Abbreviate commands to the
minimum number of letters that determine a unique command. Use a command to set a
parameter or show a parameter, depending on whether or not a value is sent with the command
following a = character. For example, s <CR> returns the current set-point and s=50.00<CR>
sets the set-point (set-point 1) to 50.00 degrees.
In the list of commands, characters or data within brackets, [ and ], are optional for the command.
A slash, /, denotes alternate characters or data. Numeric data, n, can be entered in decimal or
exponential notation. Characters are shown in lower case although upper case can be used.
Spaces can be added within command strings and are ignored. Use backspace (BS, ASCII 8) to
erase the previous character. A terminating CR is implied with all commands.
