DCPMM Features (AEP Features)

● The DCPMM modules are displayed as "NVM / LRDIMM", according to the
JEDEC specification. This occurs for example with the iRMC web interface,
when SPD data are retrieved.
● Supports Apache Pass sizes of 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.
● Supports Double Device Data Correction (DDDC).
● Supports DCPMM up to 2666 MT/s.
● The DCPMM operation modes can be configured in the BIOS setup. The
default setting is "Auto mode". For more information, see the corresponding
BIOS manual.
● The DCPMM support the following operation modes:
1. "Memory" Mode (2LM)
DDR4 DIMM acts as a cache to Apache Pass. This condition is delivered by
Intel.
2. "App Direct" Mode (1LM)
The application uses DCPMM directly as persistent memory. DDR4 DIMM is
used as memory, not as cache.
3. "Storage over App Direct" Mode
This mode uses DCPMM as SSD. DDR4 DIMM is used as memory, not as
cache.
4. "Mixed" Mode (2LM)
This mode is a mixture of "Memory" Mode and "App Direct" Mode.
● In all Mixed Modes where Memory Mode is configured, DDR4 DIMMs only
serve as cache for the volatile part of DCPMM and follow 2LM configuration
rules.
● In case of App Direct Mode mode or Storage over App Direct Mode DDR4
DIMMs serves as system memory. In this case 1LM configuration rules has
to be applied.
