Residence Time - The time your material supplier has determined that the material
in use must be heated to its drying temperature to achieve proper drying.
Problem
Material residence time is
too long or short.
Possible cause
Material level in hopper is too low.
Material throughput is too high.
( c o n t i n u e d )
Solution
Make sure there is an adequate supply of
material to feed the loader on top of the
drying hopper.
Correct any problems with the convey-
ing system that may be preventing your
loader from filling the hopper.
If your hopper has a level sensor for
maintaining a material level less than
completely full, be sure this sensor is
adjusted properly.
Take any necessary steps, such as
slowing down the process, to ensure
the material usage is within design
specifications of the dryer and hopper.
