The parking brake switch is a single pole plunger type switch (normally open)
with two terminals. When the plunger is depressed (parking brake ON), the
circuit closes and there is continuity between the terminals. This allows battery
voltage to flow to the Smart Hour Meter for the safety interlock system.
Parking brake ON, the switch should have continuity (closed).
Parking brake OFF, the switch should NOT have continuity (open).
1. Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the PTO. Stop the
engine, wait for all moving parts to stop and remove the key. Engage the
parking brake.
2. Disconnect the battery by removing the negative cable first, then the positive
cable from the battery.
3. Using a T30 torx driver, remove the 2 (1/4 inch) bolts securing the front
bumper to the chassis.
