(The digit that can be edited is shown unterlined.)
3 If necessary, erase the ID used last with <ESC>.
4 If necessary, switch to the alphanumeric entry mode with <A-Z
The entry mode [A-Z] is displayed.
The control character ">" is shown underlined.
