Booting problems with the new kernel

The kit installation rebuilds your kernel, but it saves your
existing kernel as
is the name of the kit.
To resolve booting problems
1. If your new kernel fails to boot properly after the driver
installation, you can boot the saved kernel at the boot
(SRM) prompt (replacing
the kit):
This boots single-user mode, using the previous kernel.
2. When the previous kernel comes up, uninstall the kit as
described in the next section. The X Window System
probably will not start with this kernel because the kit
installation also modifies the X Server configuration file
/var/X11/Xserver.conf.pre.\KITNAME
Customer Support for information about the problems
you have encountered.
>>>boot
/vmunix.pre.KITNAME
