Supported configurations
The Digital Personal Workstation supports the Md5/PCI
board in either a 64-bit or a 32-bit slot. This table explains
how the board works in both types of slots. It also describes
additional requirements for placing the board in 64-bit or
32-bit slots.

Preparing to install the board
1. Turn off the power to your workstation.
Leave the workstation plugged into a grounded power
outlet so that the power cord can serve as a ground for
the computer.
If you leave the workstation turned on, you could get
an electric shock and cause damage to your worksta-
tion and the Md5/PCI board.
2. Remove the lid from the workstation according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Determine which board you will use as the VGA
console: the Md5/PCI board (see page 119), or another
VGA board (see page 121).
