Using the DPMS Screen Saver

When you are running Solaris 2.6 or later, CDE allows you to
enable a Display Power Management Signaling (DPMS) Screen
Saver. DPMS provides a standard way to manage the power used
by your flat-panel display. DPMS shuts off the backlight in the
flat panel when the display is not in use. This reduces the power
consumption of the backlight and extends the life of the display.
You can enable DPMS through the Style Manager, just as you
would invoke any screen saver. You can also turn off DPMS to
prevent your screen from powering off during times when you
are using the flat panel frequently.
To set the DPMS Screen Saver for the flat panel
1. Click Style Manager.
The Style Manager dialog box appears.
