  • Page 23: Safety Switches

    Safety Switches To protect the user and the equipment all safety features relevant to the safe operation of the unit are controlled by microswitches. As soon as one of these switches is activated or released, the unit shuts off as in accordance with the set-up in the electronic control system.

    Automatic shut-off device In compliance with current European legal standards for the protection of the end-user, the unit is equipped with an automatic shut off device which turns off the unit automatically after 30 minutes of continuous operation. This 30 minutes automatic shut off device is also installed in all units sold outside the EU in addition to other applicable local/national standards which regulate maximum exposure times.

    Delivery  On delivery, check the unit and the contents of all boxes for transport damage.  In case of transport damage, inform forwarder immediately.  Check shipment for completeness.  Dispose of packing material in compliance with applicable environmental standards.

    Transport On delivery the unit is fixed to a pallet. Additional components are delivered in separate boxes.  NOTICE: Four (4) persons are necessary to transport and assemble the unit at the site of installation.     Disassembly of sunbed bench The rear side of the sunbed bench is fixed lengthwise by the rear column. The sunbed bench sits about 4″ deep in the column support. At the sides, the sunbed bench is fixed to the head- and footend construction. There are two screws at the headend and two screws at the footend.

    Disassembly of AC system The AC system includes: AC unit drip pan for condensation water condensation water pump container for condensation water The cold air exit of the AC unit is connected to an air manifold which conveyes the cold air into the sunbed. The AC unit is positioned between two holding brackets at the front and rear side.

    Disassembly of top canopy Four (4) persons are necessary to disassemble the top canopy. The top canopy is mounted with the hinges into the top canopy support. Both have openings to feed through the supply cables and the exhaust air. The expansion bellows form a closed channel between top supports and column.

    Assembly of exhaust air stack On top of the rear column, there is an exhaust air outlet. Out of this outlet the hot air out of the unit is blown into the open. Onto this outlet the exhaust air stack is mounted. The exhaust air stack is fixed with screws onto the column.

    Assembly of bench supports In order to put the unit into a level position and to compensate for slight irregularities in the floor, the adjustment screws must be mounted to the bench supports.  Take adjustment screws out of the box with accessories and screw at the front and rear side into the bench supports.
  • Page 39  From the footend side, push the drip pan for the condensation water below the condensation water discharge of the AC unit.  Push the front holding bracket against the AC unit and fix with screws to the groundplate. ATTENTION! Danger caused by leaking condensation water.

    Installation of Assembly Plate  Put the assembly plate into its designated position. Fix the assembly plate with two thumb screws to the groundplate. Plug in the connection cable to the main control board. Assembly of sunbed bench The rear side of the sunbed bench is reset for about 4″ into the rear column and is thus supported by the column lengthwise.

    Assembly of top canopy  NOTICE: Four (4) persons are necessary to assemble the top canopy. The top canopy is fixed into position with four hooks in the top supports. Safety latches which are let into the top supports prevent the top canopy from being accidentally moved.

    Connect SunFresh system (optional)  The hose feeding the SunFresh nozzle is blue (1). The discharge hose, leading superfluous water back to the container (2) is green. The connection hoses for the SunFresh system are connected with the SunFresh container before the container is put into its designated position on assembly plate.

    Assembly of sunbed coverings To protect the outer skins of the sunbed, they are delivered disassembled and packed separately. Assembly of coverings at the rear column and the top canopy The sickle-shaped coverings for the rear column and the top canopy are assembled at the headend and footend.
  • Page 46  Connect the emergency stop button. Take the cable end with the two receptables out of the shaft in the sunbed bench. Put the receptables onto the plugs at the emergency stop button. The sequence is arbitrary.  Lower the cover on the left side and push it into the rear plate. Let the cover down onto the loudspeakers.

    Assembly of top canopy cover The top canopy covers sit across the whole front length in a groove of the front top profile. Two holding pins keep the top canopy cover in the groove. At the rear side, the top canopy cover is supported by the top canopy frame and fastened with 6 screws.

     Turn the front top canopy profile inwards until the spring locks in. Assembly of rear column acrylic At the bottom, the rear column acrylic sits in a groove. At the top, a profile strip keeps the rear column acrylic in place. The profile strip is fixed with quick connections to the rear column.
  • Page 50  Set the rear column acrylic into the groove at the rear side (1).  Tilt the acrylic upwards. Take care that the control cable for the control panel sits right behind the cover profile.  Fix the rear column acrylic with the profile strip (2).

    Assembly of neck tanner The neck tanner is positioned in the sunbed bench below the AC acrylic. It is kept in place by two notches in the black coverings to the headend side.  Assemble the neck tanner. Take the neck tanner. Adjust into the right position.

    Assembly of sunbed acrylic The sunbed acrylic rests in a profile groove in the front and rear side and acrros its whole length. Two sash locks secure the sunbed acrylic against unauthorized removal. The sash locks are opened with the help of an Allan key (6mm).

    Operation WARNING! UV-Radiation! UV-radiation can cause serious damage to your eyes and skin. Always wear protective eye-wear. Never exceed recommended exposure times.  NOTICE: The following shows an example on how to use the sunbed. The function of the control buttons can be set-up differently by the operator.

    Optional set-ups at the control panel Facials The intensity of the facials can be increased or reduced in two steps.  Push the button “Facials”.  To increase intensity, push the button “+”.  To reduce intensity, push the button “–”.     Do not exceed  more than maximum three tanning sessions per week.  more than 10 tanning session per month.  more than 10 tanning sessions for a continued series of tanning. After a series of tanning sessions, allow for an extended rest period prior to resuming tanning sessions.

     If a sunburn occurs during a series of tanning sessions, stop tanning until symptoms disappear completely. Continue sessions at reduced exposure times and frequency with maximum two sessions a week. Recommended Exposure Times WARNING! Risk of skin damage! Incorrect exposure times can lead to serious skin damage. If you do not use the standard lamps as quoted below, you may have to adjust exposure times.

  • Page 66: Annual Inspection Or Every 1000 Hours Of Operation

    Once a year or every 1,000 operating hours, whichever comes first, the unit needs to be inspected for electrical and mechanical safety. The annual inspecton must be performed by service personnel of Advanced UV Light or service personnel of authorized distrbutors. For authorized service network see Contact Manufacturer.

    Installation of UV-lamps in the sunbed  Clean the lamps with a soft leather cloth slightly damped in glass cleaner or clear water.  Put the UV lamps into the lampholder (3.).  Turn the lamp clockwise by 90° (4.)and make sure that the lamp stamp is clearly visible to the viewer.

    Replacement of HID lamps and facial filter glasses The HID lamps are installed in the facial cassettes  top canopy (3 HID lamps)  rear column (1 HID lamp) Each HID lamp is covered with a facial filter. In order to replace a HID lamps this facial filter must be disasembled first.

    Disassembly of cover profile  Loosen the quick connections at the cover profile.  Take off the cover profile and store at a safe place. WARNING RISK OF CUTS! Defective or broken facial filter glasses can cause serious cuts. Wear protective gloves! Disassembly of facial filter Support the facial filter with one hand to prevent the filter glass from falling down during disassembly.
