Power Supply Outputs

The 5-volt and 12-volt power supplies provide auxiliary power for low power circuits such as
electronic throttles, displays/gauges, and motor-position feedback devices. The corresponding ground
is the controller I/O ground circuit, GND. Typically, the 5-volt supply is for the motor feedback device
(encoder or Sin/Cos sensor) as illustrated in the wiring diagrams. For sensors and devices that can
use 12 volts, the available supply current is the same. Use VCL to monitor the output currents for
detecting sensor or vehicle-harness wiring faults. Each supply has parameter adjustable min/max
current thresholds. By default, the 5-volt supply is On (1) and the 12-volt supply is Off (0).
