Cylinder Connections
The NARKOMED 3 is equipped with ANSI
standard pin-indexed hanger yokes for E-size
reserve gas cylinders. Reserve cylinders are
attached as follows (see Fig. 33):
1.
Turn the System Power switch to
"STANDBY"
hospital pipeline supply hose.
2.
Remove the old sealing washers from
the seat of the gas inlet in the yoke.
3.
Insert a new washer onto the seat of
the yoke gas inlet connection.
4.
Verify the presence and integrity of
the two index pins below the gas inlet.

5.
Insert the head of a gas cylinder with
matching gas color code into the yoke
from below, such that the gas outlet
and indexing holes on the cylinder
head are facing the gas inlet and
indexing pins on the yoke assembly.
6.
Engage the indexing holes with the
index pins and screw the yoke handle
clockwise against the cylinder head,
such that the point of the yoke handle
bolt is aligned with the countersunk
recess on the back of the cylinder
head.
7.
Verify that the sealing washer is in
place, that the index pins are
engaged, and that the cylinder hangs
vertically. Tighten securely.
