Removal

You can replace or remove the internal simple UPS by a reverse procedure if internal simple UPS is
exhausted.

Precautions for operating with internal battery

Charge the battery before you start operation. You can check charging state and settings of internal
battery with BMC Management Console or NEC ESMPRO. For details, see the manual provided with
each tool.
Following is the limitations when using internal battery.
 Up to 4 hard disk drives can be installed.
 High Temperature Resistant Kit cannot be mounted.
 The backup device cannot be mounted on 3.5-inch additional bay (2).
 Redundant power unit cannot be installed.
If errors are detected after you finished installation, confirm the mount procedure and confirm the cable
of internal battery is surely connected.
The setting to start shutdown when power supply abnormality occurs is enabled by default.
In case of a power failure, the Power switch is pressed automatically inside the device after the shutdown
wait time elapses. Therefore, make sure to configure the device so that it shuts down and powered off
when the Power switch is pressed. Especially, the system does not shut down normally if it stops at key
input during a shutdown because an edit is in progress on Notepad, etc.
In addition, set "Never" for [System] - [Power & sleep] - [Turn off the display] to prevent the display
from entering sleep mode.
Note
Replace only N8181-152 Internal simple UPS if you are replacing the battery
because of exhaustion.
Tips
You can replace the internal simple UPS without removing front bezel.
