STATUS LED 1, 2 (1-
While hardware is operating normally, STATUS LED 1 lights green. STATUS LED 2 is off.
STATUS LED 1 is off or STATUS LED 2 lights/flashes amber if there is a hardware failure.
The following table lists STATUS LED patterns, their description and action. If the LED indication does not
change even if the action below is performed, contact your sales representative.

Tips
If NEC ESMPRO is installed, you can view error logs to check the causes of
failures.
Description
The server is operating normally.
Initialization of BMC is in progress.
In redundant power configuration, power is
not supplied to either of power unit.
System is operating in throttling condition
due to CPU internal temperature approached
to upper limit.
System is operating in battery mode.
AC power is not supplied to the system.
(In case of internal simple UPS installed)
The power is off.
POST error happen
Memory dump(including NEC ESMPRO) is
being requested.
Note: The LED remains previous status if
the dump STATUS LED1, STATUS
LED 2 is caused by software.
A temperature alarm was detected.
A CPU error occurred.
A PCI system error occurred
A PCI parity error occurred
Watchdog timer expired.
A voltage alarm was detected.
A CPU temperature alarm was detected.
An uncorrectable memory error occurred.
A battery error detected. (In case of internal
simple UPS installed)
SEL area becomes full (1024 records)
Power Supply Unit is failing (in power
redundant configuration).
A power supply warning was detected.
A fan alarm was detected.

4. Names and Functions of Parts
Action
Wait until initialization completes.
Find the device in degraded state by using
BIOS Setup Utility (SETUP), and replace it as
soon as possible.
Check the internal fan for dusts. Also check if
the fan unit is properly connected.
Check the AC cords connection. If AC
power supplies normally, contact your sales
representative.
Turn on the server.
Turn off the power, check the installation of the
option parts, and turn on the power again.
If POST displays any error message, take
notes of the message, and contact your sales
representative.
Wait until the memory dump is completed.
Check the internal fan for dusts. Also check if
the fan unit is properly connected.
Turn the power off and then turn it on.
If POST displays any error message, take
notes of the message, and contact your sales
representative.
Contact your sales representative.
Clear the SEL by Server Configuration Utility,
BMC Management Console or NEC ESMPRO
Manager.
Contact your sales representative.
Check if the internal fan cable is properly
connected.
