Installation and assembly

5.1

Foundation

The following criteria must be verified prior to installation:
The structural suitability of the soil
Maximum groundwater levels / drainage of the subsoil
A soil survey should be produced to determine the physical properties of the soil.
5.2

Pit

To ensure that sufficient working space is available, the base area of the pit must exceed the system di-
mensions by > 500 mm on each side. The distance from fixed structures must be at least 1000 mm.
If the trench depth is greater than 1250 mm, a slope with the angle β should be built in accordance with the
table below. The foundation must be horizontal and even, and must offer sufficient load-bearing capacity.
Coarse soil or soft, cohesive soil
Rigid or semi-solid cohesive soil
Rock
The trench must be deep enough that the maximum earth covering (from max. 1200 mm above tank shoul-
der) is not exceeded.
Please note: A maximum slope angle of 50° must be adhered to if the area is going to be driven on.
The applied substructure is a course of compacted round gravel (max. grain 8/16 mm, thickness
150 mm).
5.3

Connecting pipes

The GRAF EcoLoop SP is to be moved gently in a horizontal position into the prepared excavation pit and
connected to the appropriate pipes. In advance, the caps fitted for storage and transport must be removed
from the inlet and outlet pipes of the tank. The inlet pipe and the outlet pipe must slope downwards slightly
by 0.6 %.
5.4

Distance to the downstream infiltration

5 Installation and assembly
Soil type
It must be ensured that no seepage water enters the construction pit of the
EcoLoop SP system. The distance A to be maintained is the difference
between the installation depth of the EcoLoop SP and the infiltration sys-
tem, multiplied by 1.5. However, the minimum distance between EcoLoop
SP and infiltration system must not be less than 2 m.
