10. MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Antenna unit
Check the antenna unit yearly for rust, corro-
sion and chipped paint. If the antenna base
has rusted or the paint has chipped, paint the
affected area. Paint only the antenna base.
Do not paint the radome. Paint on the radome
can cause loss of sensitivity and crack the ra-
dome.
Also check the anti-corrosive sealant on the ground bolt for deterioration (peeling,
cracking, etc.) every 3 to 6 months. If the deterioration is minor, re-apply the sealant.
For serious deterioration, completely remove the sealant, then re-apply the sealant.
Water leakage can corrode the bolt if it is not properly treated.

Diagnostics

10.2.1

Self test at power on

The terminal unit performs the ROM sum test and RAM read and write test at power
up. If the test results are normal the equipment goes into standby. If error is found you
cannot transmit.
10.2.2

Diagnostic

Confirm that "Current State: IDLE" appears at the bottom of the screen.
1. Press the F7 and 8 keys to show the [Test] menu.
2. Press the 3 key to select [Diagnostic Test].
3. The [Start] window appears and [Yes] is selected;
press the Enter key to start the test.
When the test is completed, the screen shows the test
results.
