The dataflow concept

Communication between the Vivid S70 / S60 ultrasound system
and other information providers on the network takes the form of
dataflows. Each dataflow defines the transfer of patient
information and images from an input source to the system, and
from the system to one or several output sources.
A dataflow is a set of pre-configured settings. Selecting a
dataflow will automatically customize the system to work
according to the settings associated with this dataflow.
A set of pre-defined dataflows is available on the system as
listed in the table below.
Not all dataflow listed below are visible by default.
The list of dataflow available is configurable (see 'Dataflow
adjustments' on page 12-65).

The dataflow concept

Description
The local database is used for patient archiving.
Images are stored to internal harddrive.
The local archive is used for patient archiving.
Images are stored to the internal hard drive and to
a DICOM server.
Some of the measurements are stored if
DICOM SR is turned on (see page 12-48 for more
information about DICOM SR and supported
measurements).
A remote database (either on EchoPAC Software
Only or a server) is used for patient archiving.
Images are stored to a network image volume
(either internal HD on EchoPAC Software Only or
a server).
