Step #1 – Door and Hardware Preparation
A. Verify Hand and Bevel of Door
Stand on the outside of locked door when determining the door hand.
B. Door Preparation
• P rior to installation, all holes must be free of burrs, debris and sharp edges.
• I f doors are not properly reinforced per ANSI115.2, commercially available reinforcements
should be installed.
• P repare door according to appropriate template(s):
– Field door templates are shipped with product
– Door manufacturer's templates 4531 (inside) and 4532 (outside)
– Raceway template 4540 (for wood and metal doors)
• F or replacement templates, contact SARGENT 1-800-810-WIRE (9473).
